2011 - Summer News from John
As the dog days of summer arrive, John's popularity as a Cross Country Course Designer continues to grow, as new jobs begin and "old" jobs continue to upgrade their courses. Even in times of economic hardship, people keep Eventing, thank goodness! Perhaps his most exciting new venture is as the Eventing Course Designer for the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The horses continue to travel to events up and down the East Coast and Canada, though not on quite the hectic schedule we used to keep. Sweepea Dean has really come into his own this year at the Three Star level and Finnegan had a blue ribbon Novice debut. Carrick did a few Horse Trials this spring and will pick back up following the Moore County hounds this fall, and Sloopy has been enjoying semi-retirement hacking around the neighborhood.
As always, we are indebted to the sponsors that continue to help us keep our show on the road. Our horses have eaten nothing but fabulous Pennfield feeds for over ten years now and Kentucky Performance Products and

Several trips to Mexico this past year have severely curtailed his riding and competing schedule, but it is a huge honor and he has been working hard to make it the best competition possible. He loves to share his stories of crazy traffic, language barriers and cultural faux pas, but all in all, he has enjoyed the experience tremendously.
